The Searching Shepherd: Luke 15:1-7 (Part 2 of2)

Why does the Shepherd leave the 99 sheep to search for the one? Is it because the one lost is his favorite? Why does it appear that he neglects the 99 and leaves them vulnerable in the wilderness? Simply put the sheep rejected their Messiah and Shepherd. Therefore Jesus respects their decision and leaves the Jewish people for an undisclosed period of time. Unfortunately for about 2 millennia they’ve been in the wilderness of their own doing, Shepherdess. However God still loves the Jewish people and He’s not given up on them. Thank God he didn’t give up us. He continues to pursue us all by his great love, so that we would turn to Him. Do you need to turn to Jesus now? He is pursuing you!
